LOCAL COVID-19 VACCINATION PROGRAMME

COVID-19

WEST NORTHUMBERLAND PRIMARY CARE NETWORK

COVID – 19 VACCINATION UPDATE : MONDAY 11th JANUARY

Practices in the local Primary Care Network are working together to provide Covid-19 vaccinations at designated sites at Hexham and Ponteland.   Bellingham patients will be asked to attend the Hexham site, together with patients from the practices at Hexham, Corbridge, Haltwhistle, Humshaugh/Wark and Haydon Bridge/Allendale.

CURRENT PRIORITY GROUPS FOR COVID 19 VACCINES ARE :

  1. Residents in a care home for older adults and staff working in care homes for older adults
  2. All those 80 years of age and over and health & social care workers

We have a lot of patients aged 80 registered with our practice so it will take a while for everyone to receive a vaccine.

So far the Primary Care Network has received 2 deliveries of the Pfizer vaccine at both the Hexham and Ponteland sites.   We are waiting for a confirmed date for the 3rd delivery and will be contacting the next group of eligible patients once the next clinic date is confirmed.

If anyone missed their clinic appointment on Saturday 9th January because of the bad weather please don’t worry, you will be invited to the next clinic.

PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE PRACTICE to enquire about when your appointment might be as we will be in touch with eligible patients when appointments become available.

Vaccinations for residents in care homes started at the end of last week
