Diabetic Clinic

Lisa Gillie, our practice nurse runs regular diabetic clinics - patients requiring monitoring will be reviewed regularly either in the practice or on the telephone.  Patients with diabetes are encouraged to review their blood results via online access.   Please contact the surgery to activate if you are not already taking advantage of this service. 

Diabetics are also offered podiatry, dietician and eye screening at the Practice which we try to synchronise with diabetic review appointments.

SOLD STUDY

We are also working with the SOLID study - Solid is where individuals with risk factors for fatty liver disease will have a liver health check to identify advanced liver fibrosis/cirrhosis when they attend their primary care annual chronic disease review -practice staff are being trained to deliver this service.

To start with we are identifying diabetics but this research will be rolled out to other long term conditions, once training has been completed. Dr Helen Jarvis is the lead GP on this and Heidi Moore, one of our Healthcare Assistants, has undergone training.
